Final PTO Meeting & End of the Year Party, June 12th

Mark your calendar for the final PTO meeting of the year which will be a cookout party and will take place on the Lawrenceville School. There is no official agenda except to wrap up the year and recognize some of our parent volunteers. The PTO will provide burgers (both veggie and beef options), hot dogs and some other side dishes. You are welcome to add to the mix with other side dishes, salads, and drinks. Children are welcome and babysitting will be provided so that parents can have adult conversation time. Children should plan on being outside and you are welcome to bring along any outdoor toys for the fun. We will provide items like soccer balls, footballs, and frisbees. Please kindly RSVP via this form so we can plan accordingly for food and childcare. Further details and directions will be provided later.

Ice Cream Social, June 8th

Mark your calendars (if you haven’t already done so) for the PTO’s annual summer ice cream social. DJ Scott will be there spinning the tunes along with a variety of fun activities for your kids. And of course, there’ll be free ice cream for all with all the fixings. Pizza will be available for sale. It’s a wonderful way to reconnect with your LES friends and to meet new families who will be joining the LES community. Look out for further information through your children’s folders.

Participate in the Memorial Day Parade, May 27th

LES has been invited by the township of Lawrence to participate in the annual Memorial Day parade on Saturday, May 27th. The parade will begin at 10 AM from Lawrence High School but you need to arrive at 9AM. We will have an LES banner and pom noms and will walk on foot for the parade and we will also be making a small craft prop while we wait. You, your children, your friends, their friends, relatives, etc are all welcome to participate and we hope to have a great turnout. After the parade, there will be a short ceremony followed immediately by a cookout hosted by the Recreation Department of Lawrenceville. If you are interested, please sign up using this form. If you have questions, please email Tran Kim-Senior.

Fundraiser to fight cystic fibrosis for Ms. R, May 23rd

The PTO has partnered with the Habit Burger Grill in Lawrenceville to raise valuable funds to support one of our own who is battling cystic fibrosis. As you are aware, back in February, the PTO led a fundraiser effort for March Madness to raise funds for the family of Asma Rashdi who is a special education teacher at LES and whose daughter has been battling cystic fibrosis for many years. We continue with this endeavor and are hosting a night at the Habit Burger Grill located in the Mercer Mall next to DSW next Tuesday, May 23rd from 4:30-9:30PM. Take a break from cooking and spend some time with your LES friends for a great cause; all of the proceeds will go to Ms. Rashdi. If you are able to come, please be sure to print this flyer or bring the one that will be sent home through your child’s backpack to the event so that the proceeds of your meal can go towards this effort. Habit Burger will not be honoring your attendance verbally–it is important that you come with a hard-copy flyer in hand. If you have any questions, please email Tina Settimi.
